Celebrate the sweetness of the maple sugaring season as this annual family favorite returns to the Stamford Museum & Nature Center. Visit the little red sugarhouse on Heckscher Farm and see firsthand how sap is tuned into maple syrup. Learn how trees are tapped, see how sap is collected, make a maple-themed craft, have your face painted, enjoy live music, and visit our Museum Galleries.

Head to the SM&NC for the return of our popular Sunday drop-in programs! Meet one of our Heckscher Farm animals, try your hand at a scavenger hunt on the trails or groups, see Sadie and Bert the North American River Otters get their lunch, or help to feed some animals in Heckscher WILD! (limited enrollment, ages 5 and up)

Not ready for winter break yet? Join us for a morning of nature play, live animals, crafts, and more! Our environmental educators will lead an exploration of winter trails, introduce children to some of our animal teachers, and share stories and crafts. Limited enrollment of 12 children for a small group experience. Must be 4 by the date of the program. Snack and drink will be served. Members: $30/child/day | Non-Members: $35/child/day.
